With the sole aim to ensure safety for children traveling to their school, a Swedish team of product designers has designed a Safety Bus concept based on detailed interviews of bus drivers, observations of fire fighters and close study of accident such coaches and buses in various occasions.

While buying a personal vehicle, usually its safety features remain our top priority but the same does not apply for choosing a coach or bus for delivering schoolchildren. Comfort more than safety seems to draw the attention.

Truck

The word "truck" itself may be derived from the word meaning "small wheel" or from the UK mid trokell, in turn from Latin trochlea. Another explanation is that it comes from the Latin with the meaning "iron ring". In turn, both returned to Greece trokhos (τροχός) which means "wheel" of trekhein (τρέχειν, "to run"). The first known use of "truck" was in 1611 when it referred to a small strong wheel gun carriage board. In use then extended and refers to the carts to carry heavy loads, the meaning is known since 1771. Then changed again to "motor-powered carrier load", which has been used since 1930, then shortened from "truck motor" in 1916.
